And we used to celebrate the first day of rain...

Growing up, it was a tradition that me and my brother and sister would all skip school on the first day of rain to stay home and play in it. I have always LOVED the rain. Now that I am getting a fair dosage of it, i'm not quite sure how I feel. Let me give you 3 scenarios:

1) WALKING TO SCHOOL
As I was walking to school, my jacket instantly became wet and the wind blowing at probably 100 mph wasn't helping. I turned my head only to discover that somehow the wind was blowing from all directions. I frustratedly shoved my umbrella(apparently they don't hold up well in the wind) into the trash can because it had now broken and was more of a safety hazard than protection at this point. I just had to suck-it-up and continue the 30 minute journey to school.

2) "HOW FAR DO I HAVE TO GO TO GET TO YOU? MANY THE MILES, MANY THE MILES..."
I sang this song over and over in my head as I embarked the 30 minute detour on my way home in the monsoon weather in order to satisfy my craving for the cheap container of delicious pesto.

3) IT'S NOT MOTIVATING TO WORKOUT WHEN YOU HAVE TO WALK TWO MILES JUST TO GET TO THE GYM.
By the time I got to the gym, my socks in my shoes we're screaming "squish, squash...etc."

Maybe this is the typical day in Ireland that I haven't experienced yet? ha. I can honestly say that today is the first day I reallllly missed the California weather. a lot.
Some new friends =]

Sometimes there's even frost in the mornings!

Random Irish Fact: There's a 10 year old driving that car...WHAT?! Oh right, we are in IRELAND.  Here, they steer on the right side of the car and drive on the left side of the road. I often catch myself looking the wrong way before I cross the street.
